This was a useful game to help people with their reviewing abilities but there were two major problems with the game.
First of all, there was no music control. The music looped and got annoying very quickly. More importantly, there was no feedback given on the results besides an overall score. Users will not be able to be able to improve their reviewing ability unless they get to see which reviews they marked accurately and inaccurately.
Also a note - Your entire system is technically wrong because only successful abusive reviews increase your whistle level, marking reviews as helpful or useless has no impact so you might want to note somewhere that this is merely a simulation that does not reflect the actual whistle point system.

Well I kind of expected this type of flash when I read the title but you were able to deliver some funny jokes in there. There was very little animation but I will give you a decent pass on that because it is your first flash. In the future, you will need to develop storylines and work on your animation skills to be successful but this was a fun little flash.
Author's Response:
aight aight i agree but you gotta remember, its a button what possible story line could i have? lol i just use the button as a lame excuse to dish out funny shit!

"Poorly Designed Puzzle but Solid First Try"
This is a decent puzzle but it is far too difficult due to poor design and image choice. The image is almost entirely black and there are no real clues given unless you use the difficulty slider. You should at least show an image of the puzzle to make it somewhat easier. I was only able to complete the puzzle via trial and error which got boring very quickly. Also, the music button did not work.
This is a good first try but you need to make numerous improvements for your next submission. Keep at it!

thanks! i'll definitely do better next time :)

While I enjoyed the movie, there are several quality problems that keep me from rating it much higher; however, the majority of these should be easy to fix.
First of all, the sprites were completely mismatched in size. Why was Ness two stories tall and as wide as a tree?
The text displayed with a very low quality and was very grainy. In addition, it displayed far too slowly.
Finally, the submission was far too short and lacked any real plot. I get the joke but you could have done so much more with this.
All in all, the fixes should be easy to implement and I am hopefully that you attempt to make another Earthbound submission in the future with more accurate sized sprites and crisper text.
Author's Response:
Alas, of course everyone could do more, I suppose. But then every submission would be perfect.

I am glad to see that you incorporated some of my suggested improvements such as more clothing items, groupings for the clothing items, and volume controls. Great improvements for the second version. You even added multiple background songs which is a big plus!
For your next version, I suggest cleaning up some of the clothing items (especially the hats) and you absolutely must add a preloader to improve the presentation. I would also considering making the areas smaller so that people do not have to scroll to see parts of the game but that could just be do to my resolution so that is minor.
Overall, good improvement. Keep the Earthbound submissions coming!
Author's Response:
Thanks dude. Yea I took what you said and tried to fix it. I dont know if theres going to be another version, this was a pain in the ass.

"Solid, Funny Short Regarding Sonic and XBL"
As you mentioned, this was intended to be in a collaboration for short-films so I will just mentioned that you need to add length and move on.
Your animation was very smooth, the background was great, and the underlying humor was top-notch. I enjoyed both the sonic jokes and Xbox Live jokes. My only suggestion would have been to have Sonic have tripped over the Xbox Live achievement bubble instead of a rock but this was a very humorous clip.
After watching this submission, I am looking forward to watching some of your other Sonic submissions! If they are anywhere near this quality, I will be quite pleased.
Author's Response:
I was originally going to have him trip over the achievement actually XD

"Good Artwork but Animation Needs Improvement"
You are clearly a very talented artist when you try because Scott is drawn very well (I am not sure if he had red hair but that's okay). The background was also crisp but certain drawings could be improved such as the mailbox.
Unfortunately, the animation was weak at times and that really detracted from the submission. Other areas that you should work on include the preloader (as you acknowledged), the sound, and developing a plot. Not having a plot is okay for a short film such as this one but becomes a glaring issue when you begin to create feature-length submissions.
All in all, your artwork shows promise and I am confident that you can improve your animation skills with time. Good job.
Author's Response:
Well thanks for telling me what needs work, I just made this within a few hours so it's very simplistic. As far as story goes, that's was basically it, I felt it necessary to keep it short and sweet. I'm still getting used to flash though, learning something new every day.
And I've got some more stuff coming out soon, should be much more intricate than my previous submissions so far.

I will start out by saying that I love LoZ games so I believe that you picked a great franchise to build an engine out of. I noticed no bugs and everything was solid but I believe that you are far to generous with the range of the sword. In addition, all you had to do to defeat the bosses was hold down "A" to repeatedly swing the sword and let them walk into you because of the large range. Another fixes that I would implement include letting the player walk diagonally (I noticed in your comments that you tried) and possibly even charge up the sword ala the real game.
Now that I have addresses the engine, I have some advice for improving the depth of the game. As mentioned above, the combat is kind of weak so I would implement some more puzzle type games that LoZ is famous for such as moving blocks and manipulating switches. You could add secrets and new weapons, etc. that would dramatically increase replayability. Maybe you could even add a timed aspect to some parts (I know that the last scene had a timed aspect but it was insanely easy).
Lastly, I would work on the plot and dialog. I can tell that you focused on the engine and the dialog was secondary (attacking people just because they are ugly? kind of weak) but if you improve the backstory and possibly even at Princess Zelda, that aspect will certainly improve.
Having provided all of this constructive criticism, please realize that you game already has a fantastic score and could potentially be one of the higher rated games on Newgrounds if you implement some of these revisions.
Great job, and good luck on the next version!

Your animation style is very smooth and it is supported by amazing graphics and solid flash. I have been watching your submissions and your talents are clearly improving. Most importantly, you have been able to develop an interesting plot and characters that will certainly draw interest and attention to your game.
The only minor bit of advice I have is to hide the quality controls in some sort of hover over method but the overall flash was superb. I am truly looking forward to future cinematics and storyline submissions. If you increase the length of your future submissions, you will surely get tens!
Author's Response:
Thanks for the constructive feedback. I'll take that into consideration for my next animation. :)

I really enjoyed the artwork in this scene and your flash talents are clearly well above average. The interactive elements (I counted about twelve :p) were very smooth. My favorite about about these entire scene was the background music and I found it to be very relaxing.
After watching this and your other submissions, I am getting very excited for your full time projects. Keep up the hard work and you will surely generate a following here on Newgrounds!
Author's Response:
If you enjoyed everything and stated that you felt it was above average, why the 5?
